Hey, I’m Brandy Gardea, a true Californian girl. Well, except for the 18 year detour while being raised in Houston, TX. But, I always dreamed of making it back to the beaches of Southern California where I was born.

So, in 2001 I packed up my truck and headed west. And while I enjoyed the beach and the fast pace life of SoCal as a young 20 something, one day I traveled to the Eastern Sierra, fell in love, and moved to Bishop. I set down roots and married the love of my life, Bradley. He came with an amazing package of three young boys, Nathan, Cameron and Branden whom I love with all of my heart. And together, we have an awesome daughter, Chase.

I picked up photography from my father-in-law, Ron Gardea. He and I would share photos regularly and discuss the more technical aspects of photography and share laughs at the creative, yet strange “eye” each of us had. In October of 2020, we lost Ron unexpectedly and I made it my goal to continue with his passion for photography and capturing moments that can be shared with family and friends. I was fortunate enough to inherit his camera and accessories and that’s how it all began.

From the time I started to taking photography seriously, I knew I would need a good mentor and coach. Fortunately, Steve Dutcher is a long time friend with an amazing and creative “eye” for photography. He took me under his wing, teaching me all about my camera, showing me the ins and outs of taking pictures, and expertly coaching and mentoring me with a firm, yet friendly, hand.

I’ll always be grateful to Steve, but it was time for him to retire and for me to take over. He still checks in on me and my work but I am all o my own now and loving every minute of it.
